Disinfestation process
What does the disinfection process look like with the OxygenFree An2Di nitrogen generator?
we explain Step by step
Ecological pest control method using a nitrogen generator OxygenFree An2Di, which involves the use of air and constant control over it, consists of three basic stages:
1. Transfer of material and preparation of bulk packaging (in foil balloons with an EVOH layer).
The material undergoing the process is enclosed in packaging made of a special multi-layered film with an EVOH layer, i.e. with the lowest possible oxygen permeability, closed around the object using a thermo-welding machine. This film is tear-resistant and impermeable.
The sizes of the packages ("air bubbles") are adjusted to the size of the objects, depending on their quantity, size and technical conditions of the room. The user decides on the size of the package to be created. All this is determined before the disinfestation process begins. Before the ecological disinfestation process begins, special valves are installed on the packages to allow nitrogen to enter the packages and release oxygen to the outside of the package.
2. Oxygen concentration to the level of 0.05-0.07% in continuous mode 24 hours a day.
A qualified and CERTIFIED employee assembles a device to the valves in order to extract nitrogen from the air and inject it into the "air balloon", under constant pressure and temperature control, and to reduce the oxygen level inside the package until it reaches 0.05-0.07%. The preparation time for packaging (balloons) depends on the quantity and dimensions of the material being processed.
3. Control and completion of the process.
At this stage, the actual disinfestation takes place, consisting in eliminating pests at every stage of development (eggs, larvae, pupae, adults).
The values that guarantee a 100% positive result of the Airsystem method are:
- The average oxygen concentration should not exceed 0.05-0.07% and its maintenance and monitoring throughout the process
- Ongoing monitoring of ambient temperature and humidity
- Ongoing monitoring of the parameters inside the balloon using the Oxygen Free device
- Carrying out the process in a previously established and separated room to avoid mechanical damage to the created balloons
After 21 days from the moment the required parameters are achieved, if the process is proceeding without any problems, the devices will be disconnected and the archival objects can be removed, cleaned and returned to their place.
Additional information
- Any object that can be lifted and placed on foil can be subjected to the ecological disinfection process, regardless of its size.
- The room intended for the ecological disinfestation process should be relatively spacious so as not to damage the mechanically created packaging.
- If the objects being processed are delicate, damaged, or very valuable, they can be packed in special acid-free packaging and processed in this way.
- Once the process is complete, the nitrogen from the "balloon" returns to the atmosphere, which is why the method is 100% ecological and safe for the operator and the environment.
